1) Police/citizen relationship-excessive force is unfortunately often a deadly force that must be rectified immediately. We must first reallocate funding towards providing policing courses within the department (Ethnic awareness, de-esclalanating conflict, learning laws/policies, rights, and where excessive force begins), school system (classes of policing procedures within FWISD), and communities (monthly meetings focused on the citizen’s role and where excessive force begins). This should dissolve conflict giving all parties an understanding of what they can or can not do, therefore have no excuse to be held accountable for their actions. Changing of laws like qualified immunity, role, and relationship building are the only way we will begin the healing process and understanding. All parties must know and obey proper policing procedures.
2)Transit- We must lay the perfect foundation needed to ensure a safer, faster and efficient system of transportation for the rapid growing population. Such a platform will not only get current citizens to jobs, leisure and recreation, but attract new business, visitors and newcomers to The City of Fort Worth. Continue with the current plans in place while expanding on them to jobs, leisure, and recreation. I will consult with the experts, review plans, give my input and then execute accordingly. Great cities have great transportation.
3) Education students/ Community- I advocate trades in before drop out, ensuring that our students have a trade of their liking keeps them interested in learning, and if they drop out they have skills and/or trades to fall forward on. We must tap into the individual needs of each student that they may learn at their pace and find their best learning ability. This community needs resources readily available to educate our citizens on home buying/maintaining ownership, small business, financial literacy and self sufficiency.
